Principal's Message

Welcome to Castleview Elementary School,
Home of the Dragons!

I feel privileged to be the principal of Castleview Elementary School and have the opportunity to work with such a high quality and dedicated team. Our school community works together to ensure that our students have opportunities to be successful in both academics and in their social and emotional learning. Relationship building is a commonality that is shared throughout our school community and is a top priority of our team.

The vision of Orange County Public Schools is to ensure every student has a promising and successful future. Here at Castleview Elementary, we work to achieve this vision everyday by providing standards based, differentiated instruction to every student who enters our building. Meeting student academic and social-emotional needs is achieved through providing interventions and enrichment opportunities daily, allowing all students to reach their fullest potential.

Beginning in the 2020-21 school year Castleview Elementary School will be a 1:1 digital school. Every student in second through fifth grades will have their own laptop and all kindergarten and first graders will have an iPad. This will allow us to further personalize instruction for each of our students and encourages digital literacy. The use of technology has changed the way our students collaborate, create, communicate, and think critically, and we can’t wait to see our students continue to learn and grow in our digital rich environment.  Additionally, every classroom in our school has an interactive SmartBoard, which allows for full engagement throughout all lessons.

Research shows that parent engagement in a child’s education has a multitude of positive impacts. Therefore, we encourage our community to participate in our school life. There are many opportunities to volunteer at Castleview. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a great way to get involved with planning events and participating in fun activities along with meeting other parents. Our PTO meets every month to discuss upcoming events. Additionally, our School Advisory Council (SAC) meets monthly to discuss school wide progress. The SAC’s primary role is to assist in the preparation and evaluation of the school improvement plan for the current year. We hope you will join us in making Castleview the best it can be. I look forward to a great year at Castleview Elementary School, and once again seeing all of the smiling faces that make our school special.
